Ryan Kwanten Workout routine and exercises

He stays fit with body weight exercises: pushups, sit-ups, pull ups, jump rope, etc. With the jump rope he likes to do interval training. In addition to this, he likes to go for a run every now and then. He had canceled his gym membership so he does not go to gym. He does his strength training at home.

He prefers running outdoors, and more specifically on trails. Instead of distance, he chooses routes with distinct midpoints. He also turned to yoga after watching his mother struggle with debilitating back problems and dealing with his own inflexibility issues. Last winter I spent 3 months just doing body weight circuits in my apartment and to be honest, my physique looked about the same as when I was training in the gym, he says.

Ryan's Diet and Nutrition

His diet consists mainly of meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, roots, and nuts. It excludes grains, legumes, dairy products, salt, refined sugar, and processed oils. He admits that he doesn’t follow a strict diet anymore, and isn’t afraid to have a beer on occasion, but still prefers water or a protein shake.

For True Blood Ryan follows a diet based around protein and vegetables. He avoids refined grains and limits carbs during this time to get “extra lean”. He claims that he only needs to do this 2-3 days before a special event. The lower intake of carbs insures that his insulin levels stay stable.
