He is best known for his roles in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrel, Snatch, Death Race, The Transporter, Crank, The Expendables and he has also signed The Expendables 3 and Fast & Furious 7 which is scheduled to release in 2014. He has a lean muscular body with chiseled abs and nice guns. He trains to be a tough guy by focusing on high energy, plyometric exercises. He trained 6 days a week and resting one day. His latest workouts have allowed him to bulk up more and get more cut.
Many would say that Jason has great genetics but in reality he was able
to make the drastic transformation by dedicating himself and changing
his habits. Jason's workout routine consists of 3 stages.
- The first Stage is a 10 minute warmup phase using a rowing machine. This low impact workout creates a nice cardiovascular benefit and works all primary muscle groups.
- The second stage is a medium intensity 10 minute workout. Statham will perform any number of lifts during this phase. He will incorporate heavy strength training, circuits, kettle bells, and medicine balls.
- The final phase he performs interval training using 6 circuit training exercises. He does this circuit 5 times, going full out and resting as long as necessary between exercises. The list of exercises he choose include ball slams, rope climbs, pullups, snappers, hanging knee raises, bur pees, bear crawls, farmer walks, front squats, rope pulls, weighted step-ups.
Diet and Nutrition
Jason goes on a very strict, low-sugar diet. He targeted a 2,000 calorie per day diet. He eats 6 small meals per day. He ate very clean and included lean meats and fish, vegetables, nuts,
and protein shakes. Additionally, he completely avoided refined sugars
and flour. No fruit juice and no alcohol either. Finally, he tries to
drink 1 1/2 gallons of water per day. But currently he has been eating nothing but brown rice and spinach every day so that he can look Super lean for this role.
